Provironum 25mg: Bayer's Indian Proviron Explained

Provironum 25mg: Bayer's Indian Proviron Explained

Provironum 25mg is Bayer's Indian brand of mesterolone, identical to Proviron. How to spot a real strip, the dosage by use and the side effects at each dose.

    Same Molecule, Different Box

Provironum 25mg is mesterolone, the same 25 mg tablet sold as Proviron in Europe and most of the world, packaged by Bayer Zydus Pharma for the Indian market under a different brand name. Men searching for it usually fall into two groups: patients in India and neighbouring countries who have been prescribed it and want to know what it is, and bodybuilders elsewhere who have bought it from Indian pharmacies because it is cheaper than European Proviron and want to know whether it is the real thing. The short answer to both is that Provironum and Proviron are pharmacologically identical, and everything on this site about mesterolone applies to it.

This guide covers what Provironum is and who makes it, how to tell a real strip from a fake, the Provironum 25mg dosage for its clinical and off-label uses, the side effects to expect at each dose, and how it compares with the other mesterolone brands on the market.

Provironum 25mg contains 25 mg of mesterolone, the same active ingredient at the same dose as Bayer Proviron. The differences are the box, the price and the distributor. The mechanism, half-life, dosing and side effects are those of mesterolone, covered across the Proviron complete reference.

What Provironum Is and Who Makes It

Mesterolone was developed by Schering AG and launched as Proviron in 1966; Bayer acquired Schering in 2006 and has sold it since. In India, Bayer's local joint venture, Bayer Zydus Pharma, markets the same product as Provironum, in strips of 10 tablets, typically sold in boxes of 30 or 50. The name is a legacy of Schering's Indian operation, which used the "-um" suffix for several brands. Provironum is approved in India for male hypogonadism, declining androgen levels with age, and as adjunct treatment in male infertility, the same indications as Proviron in the countries where it is licensed.

Mesterolone has never been approved in the United States, so there is no US brand; American users encounter Provironum through international pharmacies, which is why the name searches so heavily from outside India. The Proviron for sale guide covers the supply channels and their risks.

    Real Provironum vs Counterfeit

Because Provironum is cheap and exported widely, it is one of the most counterfeited mesterolone products. Real strips are blister packs of 10 white, round, flat tablets scored on one side, with the Schering-era "AX" hexagon mark embossed on the other and the Bayer cross printed on the foil; the foil carries batch number, manufacturing and expiry dates, and the Bayer Zydus Pharma name. The box carries the same batch number, a scheduled-drug warning in English and Hindi, and the maximum retail price printed on the packaging, as Indian regulations require. Fakes typically fail on one of those details: tablets without the embossing, foil without a batch number, a box with no MRP, or a price far below the roughly 250 to 400 rupee retail cost of a 10-tablet strip.

For anyone buying outside a licensed pharmacy, the Proviron for sale guide explains how to read a certificate of analysis and why a lab test costs less than a counterfeit cycle.

    Provironum 25mg Dosage

The Provironum 25mg dosage follows the mesterolone dosing that applies to every brand, because the tablet is the same.

    Provironum 25mg dosing by use

    Use
    Dose
    Duration

Clinical: hypogonadism, androgen deficiency (Bayer label)

25 mg 3× daily initially, then 25 mg 1 to 2× daily maintenance

    Months; under medical supervision

    Clinical: male infertility adjunct

    25 mg 2 to 3× daily

    Several months, with sperm analysis

    TRT adjunct for high SHBG

    25 to 50 mg daily

    Ongoing, with bloodwork

    On-cycle SHBG control and hardening

    50 to 75 mg daily

    8 to 12 weeks

    Libido support

    25 to 50 mg daily

    As needed

Tablets are taken with food, at the same time each day, and the 12 to 13 hour half-life means a single daily dose is adequate at 25 mg while 50 mg or more is better split morning and evening. The Proviron dosage guide goes through each protocol in detail, and the Proviron 25mg guide covers the tablet itself, timing, splitting and absorption.

    Provironum Side Effects

Provironum side effects are mesterolone side effects: as a pure DHT derivative it does not aromatise, so there is no estrogen-related water retention or gynecomastia, and because it is not 17α-alkylated it does not carry the liver toxicity of most oral androgens. What it does carry is the androgenic profile of DHT.

At 25 to 50 mg a day the common effects are mild: oily skin and acne in those predisposed, some increase in body hair, and, in men with the genetic tendency, accelerated male-pattern hair loss, which finasteride cannot prevent because mesterolone is already a DHT derivative and does not need converting. Above 75 mg a day, HDL cholesterol falls measurably, LH and FSH are suppressed, and prostate enlargement becomes a concern in older men. Prolonged use at any dose warrants a lipid panel and, over 40, a PSA. The estrogen-lowering effect that helps some men can go too far in others, producing the low-estrogen erectile problems described in can Proviron cause ED. The full dose-by-dose picture is in the Proviron side effects guide.

The side-effect profile does not change with the brand. A man who tolerates Proviron will tolerate Provironum at the same dose, and a man who gets acne or shedding on one will get it on the other. Counterfeit Provironum is the exception, its side effects are those of whatever is actually in the tablet.

Provironum is not for women: virilisation from a DHT derivative is rapid and partly irreversible. It is contraindicated in men with prostate cancer or liver tumours, and it is a prescription-only, scheduled drug in India.

    Provironum vs Proviron vs Generics

There is no clinical difference between Provironum and Proviron. Both are made to Bayer's specification with the same excipients, and the only reason to prefer one is price and availability, Provironum typically costs a third to a half of European Proviron per tablet through Indian pharmacies. Indian generic mesterolone (Mesviron, Provibol and others) is legitimate when it comes from a licensed manufacturer, but quality varies more, and the underground-lab "Proviron" sold on forums has no assurance of content at all. When the aim is a predictable dose, Provironum from a verified source is the practical middle ground.

Provironum 25mg is mesterolone, the same drug sold as Proviron elsewhere, marketed in India by Bayer Zydus Pharma. Each tablet contains 25 mg of mesterolone, a synthetic DHT derivative used clinically for male hypogonadism and infertility, and off-label for SHBG control and libido. It is pharmacologically identical to Bayer Proviron; only the brand name, packaging and price differ.

Yes. Both are Bayer mesterolone 25 mg tablets made to the same specification. Provironum is the Indian brand, Proviron the international one. Dosing, half-life, effects and side effects are identical. The practical differences are price, Provironum is usually cheaper, and the counterfeit risk, which is higher for Provironum because it is exported informally worldwide.

Those of mesterolone: at 25 to 50 mg a day, oily skin, acne and body-hair growth in the predisposed, and faster male-pattern hair loss in genetically prone men. Above 75 mg, lower HDL, suppressed LH and FSH, and prostate concerns in older men. It does not aromatise, so no water retention or gynecomastia, and it is not liver-toxic.

Per the Bayer label, 25 mg two to three times daily at first, then 25 to 50 mg daily for maintenance. On TRT for SHBG control, 25 to 50 mg daily; on cycle, 50 to 75 mg daily for 8 to 12 weeks. Take with food and split 50 mg or more into two doses.

Real strips hold 10 white, round, scored tablets with the "AX" hexagon mark, the Bayer cross, a batch number and expiry on both foil and box, and the maximum retail price on the box as Indian law requires. Missing embossing, no batch number, no MRP, or a price far below the 250 to 400 rupee strip cost mean a counterfeit.

In India it is a scheduled prescription drug, legal with a prescription. Mesterolone is not approved in the United States, and importing it is illegal there; in the UK and EU it is prescription-only. Buying Provironum from an international pharmacy without a prescription is therefore outside the law in most Western countries, regardless of the product's authenticity.
